The Bungalow is a beautifully, refurbished detached bungalow set in the residential outskirts of Ardleigh and Colchester, and a 5 minute drive from the A12, it also within easy access to surrounding towns and villages. The Bungalow has an easy access to local community amenities including Highwoods Country Park, local colleges and Leisure Centres.

The Bungalow comprises of six large single bedrooms and an abundance of communal space, including a large lounge and a very large Garden. There is ample opportunity to interact with others, or to enjoy the living space in private.

The atmosphere at The Bungalow is happy, lively, vibrant, positive, with a fun outlook. Staff enthusiasm is obvious and infectious , and the drive for continual improvement is routine. Our Registered Manager, Karon , strives to excel standards in respect of quality of care and interaction with individuals using the service , and this is reflected in her confidence with her “hands on approach” working directly with the service users and as a mentor for staff practices.

The Bungalow is part of Maison Care. Mason Care (originally known as ‘Caring on a Small Scale’) was founded in 1990, is a specialist and residential provision for adults with autism and learning difficulties. Additional complex needs, health related needs and challenging behaviour supported.

We intend to empower individuals with the skills and independence to achieve the future they want. Maison Care now offer 28 beds in 4 care homes around the Colchester, Essex area. Each of these units are staffed by an experienced and skilled team base including NVQ qualifications, Positive Behaviour support, The Learning Disability Qualification and soon to be enrolling on the ICE training scheme (Inclusive Communication in Essex).

Our person-centred plans of care and support are based on the assessed needs of each individual and promote the principles of an ‘ordinary life’, raising aspirations and the feeling of self worth.
