Ellisons Solicitors Charitable Fund Committee.

Jane Warren from Ellisons Solicitors presented our CEO, Tom Harrison, with a cheque for £950 donated from their Charitable Fund Committee.

When they asked their employees for nominations for a worthy charity/organisation in the local area who would benefit from a donation, Jane had no hesitation in putting us forward for consideration. It was our friendship services, predominantly groups and activities that were close to Jane’s heart.

She said, “My Nan and Grandad were married for 60 years and when my Grandad died, my Nan became very isolated as they had done everything together. My Nan was encouraged by a neighbour to attend a club at a local church and through this club she made new friends and socialising with people in similar situations meant that the feelings of isolation and loneliness weren’t as bad for her. It’s groups and clubs like these that Age Well East put on that are invaluable and provide a lifeline to people like my Nan who are going through a particularly difficult time in their life or for people who just need some advice and support and without charitable donations and funding they wouldn’t exist”
