ANNOUNCEMENT – CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
After five hugely successful years leading Age Well East Simon Prestney has decided to take a short break before moving on to a fresh challenge in his career. The organisation has grown from three to 50 team members and a small army of over 500 volunteers all delivering support to thousands of people in the local community. From a small organisation in Colchester the charity has extended reach both with services, the number of people supported, and in geographic reach across the wider Essex area. The organisation has a superb team of specialists in support services, an effective leadership and management team and committed and dedicated staff and volunteers delivering excellent support to those in greatest need across Essex.
Age Well East now has embedded partnerships in major contracts in mental health in the Suffolk and North-East Essex ICB, as a key partner in the care closer to home contract in North-East Essex and in the Essex Wellbeing Service commissioned through Essex County Council and with Provide Community as the lead contractor. These partners recognise the compassion that the team has shown to become a trusted brand in the local communities of Essex.
Simon would like to thank each and every colleague for the amazing achievements that, combined, are represented by delivering a key milestone of £10m of social value to those in greatest need that are supported by the collective efforts of the team. Thank you for all you have done, are doing now, and will do, to support and empower those we serve to become happier and healthier.
The trustees would like to express their thanks to Simon for his contribution in significantly growing and raising the profile of the charity over the last five years and wish him the very best for his future journey.
