Advice and welfare
“I needed help so they came to visit me in my home. They were very friendly and listened to my problems.”

Our Advice and Welfare service is delivered by experienced and knowledgeable advisers who provide independent, free to access advice and welfare support across Colchester, Tendring and Braintree.
Our advisers provide timely, person centred advice and support to help with welfare benefits, housing and care options designed to meet the needs of our later years community. We also offer benefits checks to identify where additional income can be claimed to ensure people can meet their essential needs and support to make applications for assistance using online systems and paper based forms.
We have established an excellent reputation over the years, and our approach is versatile, allowing us to provide advice by telephone, e-mail, and in-person through home visiting.
We work closely with local partners to help people navigate the Health, Social Care and Housing systems. A task that can sometimes be complex and confusing.
Additionally, we are experienced and skilled in supporting people to make claims for Blue Badge disabled parking permits, improving the ability for those with long term health issues and disability to remain connected within their communities.
