Memorial Tea Dance 1 November 2022 | Colchester Town Hall

100 local people, each dressed to impress, joined us to celebrate National Befriending Week and mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

People from all corners of our community, united to enjoy a compered afternoon of ballroom dancing and mouth-watering refreshments, with additional entertainment by local saxophonist Mike Aremu, and a speech by guest speaker, the Mayor of Colchester, Tim Young. For us and many, it felt like Strictly had come to Colchester – a significant social highlight of the year, that will become a Jubilee legacy and a new annual tradition.
